Foremost national leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogor Ward, and Senior Special Assistant Political, to the Delta State Governor, Olorogun Hon Kpuwhara Anthony JP, has described the Supreme Court affirming Sheriff Oborevwori as the governor of Delta State as an era of a new dawn.
Olorogun Kpuwhara made this known while celebrating the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori with party faithfuls at Oviri-Ogor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, headed by Justice Inyang, dismissed an appeal by the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, filed to challenge the outcome of the governorship election that held in the state on March 18, 2023
The court in its judgement, held that even if the total number of INEC forms that the Appellants complained about are removed, it would still not affect the margin of lead that was in Oborevwori’s favour.
The Appellants failed to discharge the burden of proof placed on them by the law to warrant the setting aside of both the Court of Appeal judgement and the verdict of the Delta State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
According to him, “After surviving about 38 court cases,( pre and post election) today’s judgement by the Supreme Court led by Hon Justice inyang okoro and four others bring an end to the numerous litigations against Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Deltans should put behind them the past and join hands with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori because he has started well despite the fact that the court cases were numerous.
“He came with MORE Agenda mantra, and he brought Julius Berger to construct 3 flyovers, bridge and roads and now that the Supreme court has affirmed him as the state governor, Deltans will benefit more of his gigantic projects.
“While I congratulate him on this landslide victory at the apex court, I want to call on others that contested with him to join hands with him to make Delta of our dreams.”
